Kate’s work

Sorry for so many posts today, but I just got pics from a party I went to yesterday and didn’t want to wait.  It was a topping out party (for when the construction hits the final story of the building for the first time) for a project I worked on last year. The building is 43 stories but they only took us up to 35 for safety reasons. It was a slighly scary ride up in the “elevator”:

113aI was a bit unsettled in the elevator, but felt fine when we got inside (although there were no walls up yet).  The view was spectacular–the site is in downtown Brooklyn so the upper floors have great views of the harbor, East River, Manhattan (lower Manh. up to Midtown) and, on a clear day, (which it was not yesterday), to Coney Island and the ocean.  This isn’t the best view, but you get the idea.

Crawling (updated with video)

Sam officially started crawling last weekend and he’s already moving fast. He has been cruising the furniture (walking) for quite a while and even braving the distance between pieces of furniture for a couple steps. I was a little anxious about him NOT crawling since it was getting late and some books say that skipping a major milestone is problematic (like he could be clumsy the rest of his life). …..I worry no more because he’s crawling! It actually started out as a crazy animal-like crawl since he was trying to keep his legs straight (he’s familiar with walking, after all). Now he’s back on his knees to crawl, but still pulling himself to stand alongside furniture or people’s legs much of the time.

18 years together

In honor of our 10 year anniversary, I took some time to put together a few photos of my and Kate’s past 18 years together (We started dating in 1991). Maybe not all that exciting for people that aren’t us, but some of the hair styles are pretty entertaining. Click the picture below to check them out:

I did my best to put them in chronological order, but things get a bit haphazard in the middle there…
